A little bit about
Lord Robert Walters
Lord Rob, born Robert Jonathan Walters, was born on the 13th September 1982 in North London, making him a Virgo, a very accurate star sign for him, as he is very clean, tidy and synonymous for being a perfectionist.
Robert’s prestigious lordship title, a title originally stemming from henry VIII himself, was passed down through the generations and bestowed upon Robert. Master Robert then became Lord Robert Jonathan Walters. The family decided to keep this a family secret for all of Robert’s childhood and teenage years in order to allow him a normal upbringing where he was treated no differently. It was not until April 2009 when he joined dance sensation Here Come the Boys that he came out about his title when his manager decided it would help promote him in the show and in turn forward his career. Which it certainly did when he was declared number one and favourite in the show.
Lord Robert Walters stemmed from an elite sporting background and business world too. His father was an international world class athlete who represented England over 40 times in the 400 metres, and later made his fortune as an entrepreneur. One grandfather played for Queens Park Rangers Football Club, whilst the other owned the chain of London department stores ‘Walter’s.’ Therefore, it was written in his genetics that Robert would be a good all round sportsman, and business tycoon. His life seemed mapped to take one of these two routes. However, despite an obvious talent for racket sport Robert knew he would be making his own route in life, when a passion for film and comedy helped him find his natural talent for acting, public speaking and entertaining all ages at a very young age. Robert knew he was not to enter the sports world, or the family business of commercial property, but the entertainment industry. And he has left a path of success behind him.
Of course those sporting genetics and hard-working business ethic have given him the ability to achieve that world class physique that gave him a great head start, and has kept him on top of the modelling industry. To date Robert has graced the cover of Mens Fitness four times and is set for his fourth in January of the new year, as well as gracing the covers of other top sport and fitness magazines such as Healthy for Men, and has featured in numerous articles for Mens Health. The most covers to date for any male model of the time. And it’s not only the fitness world he’s taken by storm. Robert’s also had great success being a full time fashion and editorial model and currently can be seen in all Next stores worldwide as the face and body of their underwear campaign. The perfect look for underwear modelling has also seen him front other top underwear campaigns with Calvin Klein and Tommy Hilfigher.
Yet, it’s not only the modelling world Robert has conquered, he branched out into presenting, working alongside names such as Vernon Kay and June Sarpong at the Smash hits awards, and also presented solely for majestic television on a series of shows about life in the Costa del Sol. Robert has recently signed a deal with sky tv channel 184 for a weekly fitness show called “The Fitness Suit” which he writes and presents himself. Having a passion for comedy he has also appeared in numerous sketch comedy shows such as Harry Enfield, The Kevin Bishop Show and Little Britain, whilst being a firm favourite of Harry Hill’s on his TV Burp show. However, his acting abilities helped him land his biggest role to date when he was whisked off to Morocco for 5months of filming in Greenzone, alongside A-list Hollywood actor Matt Damon.
Lord Robert Walters
Rob has just finished filming new E4 tv show “Dirty Sexy Things”! A show about the entwining lives of 8 succesful London models. This show airs on 4th July 2011. And this is the beauty of Robert, he clearly has versatility and realises his many talents of being an entertainer. So, instead of reaching and settling for being top of his game in one field he’s always striving, branching out to new thing, and bigger achievements, which is why he has successfully raise his profile so much in the last few years.
The first ‘Here Come the Boys’ tour was such a success, and it looks as though the show will be keeping Robert busy into the New Year.
But he won’t stop there, Robert is always searching for new challenges to conquer and has great ambition.
Despite hating the 5months of long, torturous night shoots in a Moroccan desert Robert would be happy to head off to Hollywood to see his name in bright lights and be known as a great actor like his heroes, that won his initial interest in the acting world, Marlon Brandon, in The godfather, and Brad Pitt, in kalifornia. Or maybe he will put the little black book he carries around with him to use and stay with his home comforts of England and put those ideas in it into practice and write and star in his own comedy sketch show.
Whatever the future holds for Robert we know it will be bright. His talents, charm, drive and ability to succeed will take him to wherever he wants to be.
