The charming Paddy Doherty first rose to fame after appearing in Channel 4′s popular documentary TV series ‘My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding’, a programme that followed the fortunes of a number of people in and around the traveller community in the British Isles. A former bare-knuckle fighter, Paddy intrigued the public and tabloids with his onscreen antics and was soon making regular newspaper headlines.
In 2011, Paddy was asked to appear in the Channel 5 TV series ‘Celebrity Big Brother’. After wowing the public and his fellow housemates with his lovable and down-to-earth personality, Paddy went on to win the show beating the likes of Kerry Katona, Tara Reid and Amy Childs. Since being crowned the winner of Celebrity Big Brother 2011, Paddy’s career has gone from strength-to-strength. He has starred in photo shoots for leading magazines including OK! and Celebs On Sunday and has been a guest on numerous TV shows such as Celebrity Juice, The Late, Late Show and This Morning.
In January 2012, Paddy can be seen in a new TV series for Channel 5 called ‘When Paddy Met Sally’, which co-stars his Celebrity BB friend Sally Bercow. He’ll also feature in the 2012 series of ‘My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding’ and release his autobiography.
A born-again Christian, Paddy is a strong family man and adores his wife Roseanne, who he has been with for 34 years. The couple have 5 children and 15 grandchildren.
