Biography

Shaun’s career started with a variety of jobs including Postman, a stint in the Navy and working on Wines & Spirits at Safeway’s. He then gained experience as a rep for Pontin’s and 18 -30’s Holidays. Latterly he was a singer in a local band and he then joined an amateur dramatics group. Realising he had a talent for acting he set up his own amateur group and staged a production of “A Day In The Death Of Joe Egg” for which he won Best actor in the Kent Drama Festival.  He then successfully won a place and completed a three-year acting diploma with distinctions at The Webber Douglas Academy.

In the theatre he made his West End debut in ‘Saturday Night Fever’ playing Monty The DJ, and played the role again on a No.1 nationwide tour. He has also starred as Nathan Detroit for ATG on tour in GUYS & DOLLS, played the Narrator in ‘The Rocky Horror Show’, Ron in NEVER FORGET and played the lead role in the UK premiere of the US play THE ROAD TO NIRVANA at the Kings Head.

On screen, he is best known for playing ‘Barry Evans’ in the BBC’s ‘EastEnders’, in which he appeared for 9 years. He has also appeared in THE BILL, RAPUNZEL (BBC Fairytales), HOLBY, INSPECTOR MORSE, LONDON’S BURNING and WAITING FOR GOD.

Shaun has starred in 2 series of the BBC’s acclaimed Ricky Gervais comedy ‘Extras’, and the Christmas Special. He played Cliff in ‘Funland’ for the BBC and appeared in Channel 4’s ‘Bremner Bird & Fortune’.
More recently he was seen in the new Ricky Gervais comedy ‘Life’s Too Short’.

On film he has appeared in DAYLIGHT ROBBERY and Ricky Gervais’s THE INVENTION OF LYING.

Shaun regularly appears in cabaret and working with an 11-piece Soul Band. He is a versatile and accomplished Stand-Up comedian, Singer and After Dinner Speaker. He was subject of ‘This Is Your Life’, won ‘Celebrity Mastermind’ and ‘Stars in Their Eyes’ as Meatloaf and appeared in ‘Comic Relief’s Fame Academy’. Shaun has also presented 24 Hour Quiz, live daily, for ITV1, appeared on the ITV prime time show ‘Tough Gig’ and most recently ITV’s BACK ON THE JOB.

Shaun has recently finished playing Fletch in the No.1 UK tour of ‘Porridge’ and has completed filming on 2 series of the BBC series SCOOP.

When not working he spends his time playing with his 2 children Sophie Mae and Joe and walking his dogs in the Kent countryside.
