DJ Dan is the UK's biggest alternative DJ, playing to over 4,000 people every week. He has DJ-ed in New York, Ibiza, at the Reading Festival, at the Snowbombing Festival in Austria and across the UK. What's more he is Oasis' DJ of choice playing for the band at their 2007 Brit Awards Party and 2006 'Stop The Clocks' best-of album launch party as well as at several after show parties for the band on their 2005 tour.
He has DJ-ed to Arctic Monkeys, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Muse, The Killers, Aerosmith, Snow Patrol, Amy Winehouse, Stereophonics, Jarvis Cocker, Lily Allen, Kasabian, Courtney Love, The Fratellis and of course Oasis!
DJ Dan is the only weekly resident DJ at Propaganda and Ramshackle (the UK's largest alternative night, running in Bristol and Birmingham). He has DJ-ed alongside The Kaiser Chiefs, Razorlight, Bloc Party, Snow Patrol, Zane Lowe, Editors, Colin Murray and Dirty Pretty Things. He played to over 50,000 people at The Ashton Court Music Festival and has taken his club night Propaganda on tour to universities around the country, to great acclaim.
DJ Dan is far more than a standard DJ, hiding behind the DJ booth, and his 'War on Boring DJs' has gained him considerable media attention. Speaking to Bristol's Venue magazine, he explained: "When I DJ, I like to show people that I'm enjoying myself and having a good time. I come to the front of the stage, jump around and really try and entertain, which I think really helps the crowd get into the music too".
His success can also be attributed to the wide appeal of the music he plays. Although essentially an alternative DJ, his sets are made up of tracks which the majority of people know from the radio, regardless of whether they are into alternative music or not.
