Russ's passion for DJing has come from a background of music-photography where he made his name snapping bands like The Horrors, The View, Amy Winehouse and a whole array of new-musical talent. After establishing himself in the music industry Russ’s fledgling career as a photographer soon turned into a career in front of the lens.
Starting out presenting Universal Records hectic online show "Oatmeal TV", Russ went onto front E4 music and now the third series of student-favourite Channel 4's the JD Set.
Through Russ's photography and presenting his profile has always been directly associated with brand new and breaking trends in music, and this is still the case with his DJing work. Keeping his finger firmly on the pulse, Russ's often eclectic and always entertaining sets can travel from hip hop to electro bangers, indie to disco.
In his first year DJing Russ has shared decks with the likes of Mark Ronson, Buraka Som Sistema, The Juan Maclean, Zomby, Martelo and Crystal Fighters and been put on by some of London's coolest promoters - Snap Crackle and Pop, Dollop and Push to name just a few.
As well as taking in East London's trendy warehouse and pub circuit, at the end of last year Russ flew to New York to DJ at Oasis's after-party at the notorious Beauty Bar. The new champion of British music is here!
